University of Energy and Natural Resources

Located in Sunyani, Ghana, the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) is the only university in Ghana with a specific mandate to advance research and education in energy and natural resources. UENR provides leadership in these critical sectors and aspires to be a centre of excellence in energy and natural resource governance, technology, and sustainability. The university specialises in training experts across energy and natural resources management, renewable energy engineering, bioenergy systems and other relate fields. Its research strengths encompass solar photovoltaic systems, hybrid energy solutions, grid integration, and energy systems modelling, alongside infrastructure engineering, climate adaptation, and sustainable urban systems. UENR also maintains strong capacity in climate-smart agriculture, agricultural sustainability, and climate modelling, reflecting the deep interconnection between energy, environment, and food systems.

UENR brings advanced technical expertise in renewable energy systems, grid integration and decentralized energy solutions. Although relatively new to mobility coordination, UENR plays a strategic role in ensuring long-term sustainability, visibility and dissemination of project results.
