GreenTech Mobility is a four-year academic mobility project funded by the European Union under the Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme (NDICI - MOBAF). The project supports mobility opportunities for Master's students, doctoral candidates, trainees, and academic staff in the field of sustainable and green technologies.

The project runs for 48 months, from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2029.

GreenTech Mobility will support a total of 56 mobility flows, distributed as follows:

• 26 Master's students
• 9 doctoral candidates
• 12 trainees
• 9 administrative and academic staff members

Target Group 1 (TG1): Applicants who are enrolled, admitted, or employed at one of the partner institutions of the GreenTech Mobility consortium.

Target Group 2 (TG2): Applicants from African higher education institutions outside the consortium (Cameroon, Ethiopia, Mali, Sudan, Tanzania, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Niger, Zambia, Malawi, Togo, etc.).

Mobility proposals must align with the project’s thematic areas:

• Renewable energy systems
• Circular economy and waste management
• Sustainable mobility
• Environmental technologies
• Climate resilience
• Smart agriculture

Selection is based on:

• Academic excellence
• The quality and relevance of the proposed study/research plan
• Alignment with the project’s thematic priorities and the Global Gateway strategy
• Contribution to strengthening institutional and regional capacities
• Gender balance and inclusion considerations

Yes. GreenTech Mobility aims to ensure at least 50% female participation across all mobility categories. Specific measures are implemented to encourage applications from women and vulnerable groups.

Mobility scholarships generally cover:

• Accommodation
• Monthly subsistence allowance
• Insurance coverage
• Visa costs

Yes. Academic recognition mechanisms are established through formal agreements between the home and host institutions. Credits, research activities, or staff assignments are recognized in accordance with institutional regulations.

Beneficiaries are required to:

• Submit a final report
• Participate in knowledge-sharing activities
• Join the GreenTech Mobility Alumni Network

The project supports long-term academic and professional networking.
